Unique Experience with Some Quirks We stopped in Paducah on a road trip and chose this place for its promise of comfortable beds and a relaxing stay. While it didn't have a hot tub, our room's whirlpool tub was a lovely surprise. James was friendly and helpful with reservations and check-in. *The Good:* - The whirlpool tub was a great way to unwind after a long drive - The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean - The antique furniture added a unique touch to the room *The Not-So-Good:* - The room's decor was inconsistent, with furniture from different eras - We couldn't adjust the room temperature, but the ceiling fan helped - The small sink with limited counter space was a bit of a challenge - No hook for the hand towel in the bathroom would be a nice addition - The walls weren't well-insulated, and we could hear conversations from the common area *Safety Concerns:* - The lack of a deadbolt on the doors was a notable omission, especially considering the keyless entry system *Practicalities:* - The location is about 10 minutes from the highway, which wasn't a problem for us - Street parking might be a challenge during peak capacity, but the shared driveway is available for loading and unloading - The nearby Dollar General is a convenient perk Overall, our stay was comfortable, but some quirks and safety concerns kept it from being perfect. If you're looking for a unique experience and don't mind some eccentricities, this might be the place for you.

James is super! We enjoyed a quick check in, information on food, and he personally took us to our room. The room was spacious with a smaller room that has a desk. This was perfect for doing work in your laptop. The bed was comfortable, the tub was amazing, and the over all feeling was comfortable abs welcoming. Thanks for a great experience.

Really nice Hotel. Victorian Antiques, reminded me of my grandfathers house growing up. Great price compared to the other hotels around. A diamond in the rough. Much rather stay in an independently owned hotel than a chain location. This feels fancy and upscale. It would make a great date night. Make sure to book directly through them and not a third party site: you’ll get a much better rate. Super comfortable bed. Very nice hot tub, and really quiet rooms. What could make this place better: Instructions on available parking spaces online, and complimentary travel soaps, shampoos or makeup wipes for people who are traveling & forget to pack those items.

My wife and I had a lovely stay here. The house was beautiful, both inside and out, and James was an incredibly friendly and attentive person. I highly recommend staying here the next time you find yourself in Paducah.

2 beautiful, comfortable, historic (over 100 years old) houses with several private (locking) bedroom and bathroom suites and comfortable common areas. The location is in a safe neighborhood (police station is next door) that's convenient to downtown Paducah. A reasonably priced alternative to just another boring hotel.

Traveling with my 96 yr old Mom. This place was perfect. Handicapped ramp for her rolling walker, walk in shower. Very comfortable, clean and loved the eclectic furnishings. James is a wonderful host. Close to historic downtown. Is on our 'we will come again' list.

This beautiful hotel has all the charm of yesteryear with the comforts of today. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. We enjoyed having dinner in town, then walking to the river. There was a beautiful full rainbow over the river & it got even better at sunset. A local resident kindly explained how the barges and tugs work as we watched them go by. James was an excellent, gracious host. He served us a lovely breakfast in the morning. We will definitely stop in Paducah again & will be glad to stay here!

We were on the way to our vacation destination but had to stop somewhere to sleep. We got to Paducah way passed midnight and there’s not much options online you could check in as of the day before. The hotels we would like to stay were all booked. So we were debating either staying in Super 8 or 1895 Washington Hotel. After viewing the pictures online, we decided to stay at 1895 Washington Hotel! Turned out it’s the best decision we ever made! We gave the hotel a call and James picked up the phone and worked with us at almost 1am in the morning! He told us they had one room left with 2 Queen sizes bed. We quickly went there. The police station was like 300FT away from the hotel which made us feel safe there already. Since it’s at night and we weren’t familiar with the area, we were circling around to find a parking. James saw us and called us quickly to tell us where to park which we were grateful for especially at 1am in the morning! You can park by Dollar Tree or On the street by the house or the business parking lot crossing the street. James welcomed us in with a big smile and when we walked into the house, we were amazed! It’s such a historical and vintage house. Often times, you can only have a tour to a vintage house as a educational experience for the kids. But living in the house???That’s our first time! Kids were all excited to spend a night to this cute and well maintained vintage house! James checked us in quickly and told us everything we needed to know before we got to our room. All those times, James were extremely helpful and patient with us. That made us feel like family! Our room was on the second floor of the other house next to the main house. This house is also great looking and vintage! Our room was extremely clean! No dust on anywhere! The decorative handmade cloth towel hanging on the wall had no dust! We did a lot of budgeted hotels when we just needed a bed to sleep through the night and this by far is the cleanest budgeted hotel I’ve ever stayed! We usually won’t take off our socks on the floor but I was able to walk on the floor with my bare feet and not getting my feet dirty! Bathroom was also clean! Sink is vintage so you won’t expect it to be in perfect condition but you feel like you were back to those old times. Bathtub got some stain because of some customers left some dyes on it while they dyed their hair lately which we knew it’s not a big deal as it’s not dirt. Toilet was extremely clean! This house is a gem! Bed and pillows were comfortable! All of us had a great night sleep! Our boy told me to make sure to give a great review on this hotel about how comfortable the bed was as soon as he got up! Both houses have a kitchen and you could cook there! They also have plates and silverwares to provide! How convenient! We enjoyed our stay so much! James family style caring is outstanding! He is the highlight of our stay! Wish we had more time to stay for the breakfast but we are thinking of coming back when we are on the way back to home so we can enjoy the hotel again! We like to support small houses style hotel instead of big chains hotels that didn’t care about you too much! If you are looking for a clean, budgeted, historical and vintage hotel with great service,Paducah 1895 Washington is your place!
